Rugby
Rugby is the major outdoor team game in De La Salle College. The
College fields enough rugby teams to afford every boy an
opportunity to play. The Leinster Senior and Junior School Cup
competitions are the highlight of the rugby year. De La Salle won
the Leinster Senior Cup in 1983 and in 1985.
We field teams at the following levels:
- Under 13s (First Year students)
- Under 14s (Second Year students)
- Junior (Third Year students)
- Senior Seconds/Under 16
- Senior
Training for all teams takes place on Mondays and Thursdays
after school from 4:15 - 5:30pm. Junior and Senior teams may have
extra traing sessions scheduled as well as gym sessions. Matches
are played on Wednesday afternoons for all teams. For fixtures click here. (note:
fixture-list is updated on an ongoing basis)
Badminton
Badminton has had a welcome resurgence in the college of late,
with many students from all years taking part. Training and matches
take place after school in the sports hall. Teams have got to
Dublin and Leinster Finals.
Athletics
In just February 2014 the Junior Boys team took the gold medal
in their race in the East Leinster Cross-Country
Championships in Rathdrum. Training takes place every
Tuesday after school.
