Headmaster's Christmas message.
De La Salle College Churchtown started the preparations for
Christmas when the College band played a short concert for the
school on Friday 9th December. The band, with lead and backing
singers, guitars, drums, keyboards and brass instruments is drawn
from students from all years in the College. They played Knock on
Wood, Sitting on the Dock of the Bay, Dancing in the Moonlight and
finished off with the Christmas number Merry Christmas
everyone.
Carol Services were held on Tuesday 13th December for all the
students. Music was provided by Daniel Plummer, Giacomo Rossi and
Kevin Curry to accompany readings and reflections on the Christmas
theme. Many thanks to Fr. Dermot Nestor from the parish for his
participation, to Ms. O'Connell, Deputy Principal for organising
the services and to all the students who read so well on the
day.
I would like to thank all the students, parents and teachers
who responded generously to our Christmas collection for St.
Vincent de Paul. €500 was collected and presented to the local
conference who were delighted to receive the money at this
important time of the year.
Finally I would like to take this opportunity to wish all -
students, parents, staff, past-pupils and friends of the College a
holy, happy and peaceful Christmas.
Lorcan Balfe.
Headmaster.
