Young Scientist 2012

Giacomo Rossi, a Fifth Year student in De La Salle College Churchtown was among the prize winners at this year's Young Scientist Exhibition which was held in the RDS last week.Giacomo received a "Highly Commended" Award for his project which was titled "Wavelengths of Open Ended Shepherd's Flutes". His project examined the end correction in a musical flute and sought to provide formulae that can accurately predict open ended flute instrument harmonics.  The College is justifiably very proud of Giacomo, and his teacher Mr. Brian Masterson, and congratulate them on this great achievement. We hope that this will inspire other students to enter the Young Scientist competition next year.
