De La Salle College School Rules

The aim of De La Salle College is to educate each student to achieve his full potential. Our school rules help us create a safe, positive learning environment for students and teachers and must be respected at all times. The rules apply when students are on the school premises, engaged in on-line teaching and learning activities,  when in school uniform, while on school tours/trips/outings, when engaged in extracurricular activities or attending functions organised by the college.

All students and parents/guardians must sign these rules at the beginning of each academic year. It is essential that parents/guardians are contactable at all times, particularly in cases of emergency or serious breaches of the code of behaviour. The following list of rules is not exhaustive.  In the final analysis, all sanctions and breaches of the rules are at the discretion of the Principal.

  1. I will wear the full school uniform on my way to and from school and throughout the school day. (Please note that parents may be contacted immediately to sort non-compliance with this rule. Students may be sent home or not permitted into class unless in full uniform. Non-uniform items may be confiscated. Parents/ guardians can collect from Year Heads)

  2. I will have a neat & tidy appearance and I acknowledge that hair colour & cult styles, facial jewellery & earrings are not permitted. Items of jewellery may be confiscated. Parents/Guardians can collect confiscated items from the relevant Year Head.

  3. I will attend school and be on time for my classes/online classes. (Parents must contact the office to inform school management of their son’s absences.  Students must have a note from parents/doctor to explain absences on their return to school.)

  4. I will have teacher permission before leaving class.  I will not leave the school without obtaining Tutor/Year Head and Parent/Guardian permission and I must sign out at Reception.

  5. I will have all required materials for class and will have my school journal in class at all times.

  6. I will follow my teacher’s directions promptly, respectfully and without argument. I will listen to the teacher and allow one person to speak at a time in class. I acknowledge that all students have a right to an education and all teachers have a right to teach free from disruption.

  8. I will complete my homework neatly, on time and to the best of my ability.

I accept that I may have to clean, repair or pay for any damage I cause to school property.

  1. I understand that chewing gum is forbidden on the school premises. Food and beverages may only be consumed in the designated eating areas.

  2. I will abide by the school policies on Internet Usage & Mobile Phone Use.
