Our U16 basketball team today did themselves and their school incredibly proud in their All Ireland final versus Skibbereen Community School (SCS) but unfortunately lost 60-33.
SCS started the game very strongly with an impressive first quarter but DSLC grew into the game and closed the gap to 5 points by half time. They exerted impressive pressure and were able to force a high number of turnovers and ultimately take advantage of their possession.
They again competed very well during the 3rd quarter but going into the final stretch of the game SCS hit an incredibly high number of 3 point shots and our boys couldn’t match it on the scoreboard. They worked tirelessly till the end of the game, challenged the opposition as best they could and can feel so proud of what they have done in making to the All Ireland final.
The players and coach Carlitos have taken the team and the school forward in their sporting achievements. We are so proud of what you have done and look forward to the team continuing to challenge themselves and improving upon an incredible year. WE ARE SALLE!!
