Recently we have competed in the Irish Schools Junior and Senior Strokeplay Championships. On both occasions the team consisting of Dylan Finlay (TY), Tommy Smyth (1-L) and Jake Finlay (1-S) put in great performances. The Senior Championship was held in Citywest and round of the day went to Tommy Smyth who shot an exceptional 7 over par. The challenging link style Woodbrook Golf Course in Wicklow was the setting for the Junior Championship. Jake and Tommy played consistent golf throughout but round of the day certainly went to Dylan who shot a career best 5 over par.
October and November will be busy months in the golf calendar as the Interschools Matchplay league will be played off against local rival schools. With more students joining the golfing ranks during the league stages, our hopes are for a successful progression to the knock out stages.
