TY SOAR Workshop - March 3rd, 2021.
Today our Transition Year students are attending the SOAR Workshop, a full-day programme which was held virtually this year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
De La Salle's TY students have completed this workshop for a number of years and it is always an incredibly positive and empowering experience for all involved.
This fantastic programme aims to improve and develop the students' emotional and mental well-being and deliver early intervention to young adults at such a crucial stage in their cognitive and physical development. It provides a safe environment where students can feel empowered to believe in themselves and develop trust and support among their peers.
Over the day, the workshop aims to explore challenges students are facing in their lives and break down barriers that prevent them from being themselves.
SOAR aims to support and inspire young people to experience one or more of the following outcomes:
• Increased emotional well-being • Strengthened resilience • Improved levels of self-confidence, awareness and self-belief • Recognition of their own unique strengths • An increased awareness of how to express their feelings • Enhanced emotional and social skills • A greater awareness of what other young people are going through
This is truly a highlight for TY students every year and one that develops bonds between students that will hopefully last a lifetime.
