My team (Eoin Redmond, Gary O' Connor and myself) produced a segment on the 60th anniversary of the school and the De La Salle Gathering. As part of our programme we interviewed one of De La Salle's most recognisable alumni, actor Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, who plays Nidge on RTE's Love/Hate.
When we contacted Tom, who usually lives in England, he was in the middle of filming series four of the show and so was more than happy to come back and do the interview. While he was here we gave him a tour of the school, popped into some very surprised classes, and did a meet-n-greet with some of the staff, including Tom's former English teacher Mr Corbet, whom he credits with getting him into drama. We had a great interview where we talked about acting, Tom's experience in school, and De La Salle's mixed luck in rugby. We would like to give a special thanks to Mr Vaughan-Lawlor, who was very accommodating and kind to all he met while in the school.
